And where has the old one gone! Yikes.

I hope everyone had a safe and cheerful holiday season and ate lots and lots of the bad sugary stuff so that we can all be good now that the new year is here.

I had a nice time, spent time with family, took some days off work, slept, shopped, baked cookies and ATE way too many of the aforementioned cookies! Yea, it's gym time for this new year. Also attended some holidays parties - and there were even presents! Whee!

I got my Holiday cards out monday... not as early as I wanted. I had a stack of overseas.. and the local post guy kind of laughed at me when I asked how long overseas was taking. *sigh* Seems I misjudged the timing there. I didn't realize you had to mail them the 1st of December? I think of doing cards after Thanksgiving – but for some reason I think that's too early to mail them, so I wait, then when it seems time, it's too late. So, all my overseas pals.... You will receive 'Happy New Year' cards!

I've been slow also with Christmas shopping. Keeping going to the mall and wandering around aimlessly not seeing anything that really 'speaks' to me for anyone on my list. There's a reason I'm usually shopping on the 24th!

I participated in one holiday exchange - sga_art_santa . Lots of wonderful art has started to post. Go take a look! And one of them is by me – and one for me too! Whee! I want to thank bluespirit_star for being my wonderful art beta and helping me to refine the art to something that came out much better than I was originally imagining with just some little adjustments.

And the one for me has posted! Shore Leave A beautiful romantic piece that I immediately put as my wallpaper! Thank you santa! (and I've been looking at it trying to figure out how it was done! I love all the stuff I learn)

And not only art, but so much good stuff to read at sga_santa, undermistletoe, and ts_secret_santa. Oh my! And just a little while ago I was bemoaning the lack of stuff to read. No more! Now there is so many I want to hide and read all day! (which really cuts into the shopping and things like, you know, work!). I'm behind in reading and commenting on all of them. I hope to catch up one day.

ETA: Oh - and bluespirit_star is doing a daily advent of goodies art and stories too! She's so ambitious!

For all those that celebrate - I hope you have a wonderful day of food, family and friends.

And for all those who don't - I wish you a joyous day doing what ever you want to! and I'll have an extra slice of pie for you :)

At the moment, I'm baking yams, watching the dog show on TV, surfing the net and petting kitties. Soon I'll be heading off to my sisters for the orgy of food.

*urp* Baked cookies all day yesterday in our annual tradition of baking cookies to hand out to friends/neighbors/co-workers. I think it was 12 different types this year. This year we even had a new assistant - my niece (The oldest one)! Who was also good at distracting my other niece (the youngest one) so we could get stuff done :)

Now there is all those cookies to eat.... man, I really need to hit the gym. *sigh*

I sent a number in return, but only got half-way through my FList by the time LJ decided to take away the cookies :( So, for everyone on my flist! *virtual Snowflake cookies!* I was thinking big holiday wishes for all of you.
