Because I'll get one in email, then go wandering unsuspecting into a bookstore and get attacked by books! ARGH! I don't need more romances, really! I ended up with 4... lets see... 2 new Regencies with military men (whee!), a harlequin with green cover and a wolf (werewolf romance) and a harlequin called "Tall, Dark and Lethal".. Yea, I know you are all laughing yourselves silly about now. *sigh*

I found a set of historical 'mysteries' that I found extremely well done--the Julian Kestrel series by Kate Moss. Unfortunately there are only four books--I think the author died before any more were written. I enjoy a nice fluffy romance novel from time to time (though sga slash has seriously spoiled me for that these days!) but the Kate Moss books are really a cut above the rest.

And yeah, I know what you mean about bookstores. And amazon.com...I have to set limits these days. I keep remembering there *is* such a thing as a library...but it is so hard to get books back there on time and I love the thrill of a stack of new books by the bedside waiting to be read...

I have SO many good books in my to-read pile(s) here at home. I keep reading SGA fic instead. And I received 7 additional books for Christmas, which were all on my list. And also a couple of Border's gift cards. Hooray!

I got the Border's 40% off coupons and headed out to the store with my list, the coupon, my Border's card, and my gift cards, thinking, "Whoopee! Cheap books for no money!"

I couldn't believe it. All the books that are left on my list are special order (How can the new pirate anthology which has Naomi Novik's story be special order?) And I have so many here at home to read, I wasn't going to pick up just any old thing. And I think I may have finally gotten every one of Nora Robert's books published since about 1999. (Before then, they're not nearly as good.)

I actually walked around the store for 45 minutes looking for things on my list, trying to find some of the more obscure sections, looking up books on their computer. And I walked out of the store empty-handed!

I need to read some of the ones I already own anyway. (g)

Of course, it helps that I know there will be another coupon in my email soon, even if not quite as good!

exactly. I have piles and piles, and I spend all my reading time online! And on some coupons I've done that, walked around, not finding anything and walk out.
